Malahide Portmarnock ETNS endeavours to realise the potential of digital technologies to enhance teaching, learning and assessment so that Ireland’s young people become engaged thinkers, active learners, knowledge constructors and global citizens to participate fully in society and the economy.

In 2022 we partnered with Microsoft Ireland and NUI Maynooth for a Digital Wealth Project to incorporate Computational Thinking, Coding and Game Design into our classrooms. Our success with this project along with our commitment to further develop digital skills within our school has led to us being amongst the first schools in Europe to receive the Digital Schools of Europe Award.

"Malahide Portmarnock Educate Together N.S. is living proof of real-time, everyday incorporation of ICT and digital media in school life. The ICT proficiency and professional dedication, displayed and validated by all involved in their use of ICTs, is to be highly applauded and celebrated. The standard of creatively utilising and integrating ICTs was most passionate and exciting!"

In our school, high-speed broadband is a vital resource that supports the development of essential digital skills and enhances teaching and learning across the curriculum. It enables pupils to engage with interactive content, access online educational resources, and participate in dynamic, technology-rich learning experiences—preparing them for the demands of a digital world.
We are pleased to share that our school now has access to high-speed broadband connectivity through the Department of Education’s School Broadband Programme, delivered as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) under the Recovery and Resilience Facility, funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU.
